SC Department of Health and Human Services to open new downtown office at 101 Pine

March 20th 2019

The S.C. Department of Health and Human Services will open a new Spartanburg office at 101 N. Pine St. in the Wells Fargo building, also known as the International Center.

DHHS will rent the third and fourth floors, approximately 19,667 square feet, of the building, bringing it to 100 percent occupancy. Both floors will undergo a complete upfit to allow for a mix of offices, meeting rooms and open work areas.

The new location will be for internal office work. It will house three times as many employees as the organization’s current Spartanburg location in the Pinewood Shopping Center at 1000 N. Pine St., which will close.

“We are excited to add the S.C. Department of Health and Human Services to the diverse tenant mix at the 101 Pine Building,” Alex Powell, commercial real estate manager for building owner Johnson Development Associates, said in a statement. “The organization provides an abundance of services to the citizens of South Carolina, and we are delighted to assist in its need for growth. Johnson Development is constantly making efforts to the fit the needs of the growing office population in downtown Spartanburg, and we continue to be energized by the future potential of the market.”

The organization plans to move into its new space at the end of April.
