Position Summary

The Paralegal will support the General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel and other legal team members by assisting with litigation and claims tracking and management for the company and its affiliates, administrative tasks, processing of applications for permits and entitlements, the management of certain contracts for the company and its affiliates, coordinating the execution and delivery of contracts, and assisting with project management. This role includes assembling highly confidential and sensitive information, and requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and accurate recordkeeping. The Paralegal works closely with other members of the legal team, and with a diverse group of important internal and external partners. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assists with claims tracking and management.
  • Drafts and proofreads legal documents and correspondence.
  • Aids in preparing contracts and the administration of contract proposals.
  • Assists in execution of company contracts, permits, and regulatory documents.
  • Maintains and manages confidential and time sensitive materials.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works with others professionally and responsibly.
  • Assists with department administrative tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Beneficial Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Approximately 1-2 years of paralegal, legal assistant, or related legal support experience preferred, or demonstrated capability to perform essential functions. Relevant internships or experience in a law firm or corporate legal department may be considered in lieu of professional experience. Either litigation or transactional experience is acceptable.
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Teamwork and problem solving skills are a must.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work well within a team and with minimum supervision.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, non-structured work environment.
  • Ability to self-direct work initiatives and solve problems autonomously and with a sense of urgency.
