Ellen Cheek

Ellen Cheek serves as Assistant General Counsel, supporting and advising JDA’s team members in matters that include contracts, risk avoidance, and litigation. She joined JDA’s legal department in 2022 after spending over 25 years as a civil litigator. Ellen practiced construction and zoning law in Atlanta for six years before returning to her hometown of Spartanburg, where she litigated contract and construction-related cases as a member of a local law firm. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, received her juris doctorate with distinction from Emory University, and is licensed to practice law in South Carolina and Georgia. Ellen lives in Spartanburg with her husband and two children.
