Alex Powell

Alex manages Johnson Development's leasing and development efforts in downtown Spartanburg.  Prior to joining JDA, Alex directed leasing for Moonbeam Capital Investments in Atlanta, GA, where his efforts were focused on redevelopment and leasing for distressed shopping and retail centers.  Alex began his career in commercial real estate in 2004 with Penn Hodge Properties in Atlanta, GA and has worked with several Atlanta real estate companies since then.  Alex received his Bachelor’s Degree from Berry College and his Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia.  

Alex is an active member of Urban Land Institute South Carolina and is currently the Vice-Chair of the Upstate Executive Committee.  He serves on the Advisory Board OneSpartanburg effort through the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Northside Development Group Board. He is also a member of the Downtown Spartanburg Rotary Club.
