Position Summary

The Procurement Manager supports and develops sourcing plans for business related categories by translating business objectives into viable spend categories, reviewing strategic supplier relationships, and incorporating best practices to align with company strategies.

Position Responsibilities 

• Gather data (from disparate data sources) to meet business planning and strategy development needs—data accuracy and accessibility is paramount

• Provide analytical data and information to support procurement initiatives

• Perform market research to identify market structure and supplier value proposition

• Carry out end-to-end sourcing lifecycle activities for services and materials (i.e. develop bid sheets and cost model, manage data collection & reporting)

• Collaborate with sourcing leaders to build an understanding of category strategy, supplier markets, & processes

• Contribute to the selection and management of key suppliers through appropriate evaluation, selection, and governance to ensure service quality, relevance, and commercial value

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business stakeholders by networking in order to understand business needs and identify improvement opportunities and manage external

• Participate in cross-functional category teams, actively seek out and incorporate feedback, and maintain knowledge of industry trends, developments, and new technologies to better satisfy customer needs and achieve business goals

• Maintain and interpret spend and savings data to measure supplier performance to identify trends, gaps, and overlaps

Essential Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

• 2 years relevant experience managing vendors

• Experience analyzing and presenting data to tell a story

• Understanding of finance, supply chain, sourcing, and/or procurement (profit and loss, cost centers, GL accounts, purchase orders)

• Knowledge and understanding of RFIs (Request for Information), RFPs (Request for Proposal), SLAs (Service Level Agreement) and vendor scorecards

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and standard computer software

• Principles and concepts for providing customer service

• Skill in Excel including statistical analysis

• Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Manipulate large volumes of data

• Vendor oversight

• Accurate and thorough approach to budgetary information gathering and proposal preparation

• Ability to communicate across all levels

• Ability to work independently with competing priorities

• Complete tasks attentively and thoroughly

• Establish and maintain effective and respectful relationships with customers

• Communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner

• Seek opportunities for individual growth and development
