Industrial MarketsAn undeniable shift in U.S. import flows has taken place over the past few years. East Coast ports have seen a consistent increase in volume from Asia while West Coast port volumes have remained flat or even declined in the past year. In addition, intermodal rail from inland logistical hubs is growing. In anticipation of this trend, Johnson Development Associates has been focusing its Industrial Division development efforts on the key Southeastern ports of Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, Mobile and Houston. As a result, JDA today is the only development company with a presence in all of those port markets. In addition, JDA is focused on burgeoning logistical inland hubs such as the Triad area of North Carolina, home to a new FedEx hub at the Greensboro/Winston-Salem International Airport, and Winchester, VA. |
