Charleston, SC

The second-largest metropolitan area in South Carolina (605,000 people), Charleston has been a major East Coast port and bustling center of trade and commerce since the 18th Century. Today, Charleston is a notable tourist destination as well as a major port city. Charleston also is becoming a prime location for information technology jobs and corporations. The Boeing 787 fuselage is assembled in Charleston. 

The Port of Charleston today is the second largest container seaport on the East Coast and the fourth largest container seaport in North America. It consists of five terminals, three on the Harbor and two on the Cooper River just north of the bustling harbor.
